More Macks Here!

Built “Mack Tough,”

this 2001 Mack MR 688S Concrete Pump Truck

features a cab-over design

that is a departure from the familiar conventional design

Mack has used, with modifications, since the 1940's.

While the exterior of this Mack may look different,

on the inside it's got all the typical Mack touches.

Its engine is a E7 350 Mack Diesel.

It's equipped with a Jake Brake

and 9-speed MaxiTorque transmission.

The truck has 19,418 miles and 894 engine hours.

It has 11x22.5 rear and 385/65/22.5 front tires.

It's only had one owner,

who's taken care to keep it in top condition.

The concrete pump is a Cifa K2-X/32.

This Milan-based Italian manufacturer

was founded in 1928.

They pioneered pump equipment for heavy trucks,

used primarily for highway and tunnel construction,

so it's no wonder they're in use the world over

(Cifa pumps featured heavily

in the construction of the Channel Tunnel).

This unit has 9" cylinders

and a 104' reach as set up,

and with the addition of extra pipe,

it can handle a 200' reach.

The 32's concrete hopper has

a 19.4 cu ft. capacity,

and a maximum output of 196 yards per hour.

Taken together with the

very well-maintained Mack MR686S

on which the K2-32 rides,

it's clear that this is an opportunity

to improve worksite efficiency at a sensible price.

The Mack MR series were introduced in 1978.

While its low-cab-forward design looks much different

than any Mack that had come before,

a closer look reveals a truck that follows

firmly in the footsteps of the A, B, R,

and other, more conventional-looking, Macks

that came in the decades before it.

just as importantly, the Mack MR can boast

the same flexibility that made its predecessors legendary among truckers.

Mack Trucks has built a bit of everything,

including buses, trains, APCs, and fire trucks.

Macks were the first trucks with air and oil filters,

drive shafts, and power brakes,

and the company continues innovating to this day.

Mack earned the “Bulldog” nickname

long before the bulldog mascot

ever graced their trucks.

This Mack truck wears the bulldog with pride,

and will be as tough and faithful as a bulldog.
